Legislation
While there are not any specific laws on Speech and Language Impairment this is what IDEA says about the diagnosis:
- Sec. 300.34(c)(1)(iii) Provision of habilitative activities, such as language habilitation, auditory training, speech reading (lip-reading), hearing evaluation, and speech conservation;
- Sec. 632(1)(4)(E)(iii) speech-language pathology and audiology services, and sign language and cued language services;
- Sec. 300.39(a)(2)(i) Speech-language pathology services, or any other related service, if the service is considered special education rather than a related service under State standards;
